Engine in and a coupla new blends

Last night, the bike got finished---well mostly the battery was dead so I couldn't start it but I think it came out great. many thanks to a great guy who will remain nameless for making it all come together, thanks brother.
On another note, I spent this morning adding a couple new favorites to the store so check 'em out.
Black Gold was on yesterday at the Saturday open house hang out and everybody really liked it so its officially a winner. Its a bit of a dry blend, think Nicaraguan, Peru, Honduras and a couple of other tricks thrown in there so its on the bold side. I also added a new/old decaf that I usually have kicking around the roastery but keep getting sidetracked and never put it on the site. Frequent Harry & Beans customers know how great this decaf is and I got hooked on it this summer so I didnt get cracked out this summer during market season. Dark and delicious you can totally fool your friends this tastes so close to 'real' coffee.

One of the best places to grab some unique seafood in Stone Harbor is Quahog's. Argentinian influenced seafood favorites in a very warm, neat casual atmosphere...well now you can check out a dark new blend from Harry and Beans Coffee. Smooth, dark and rich, this blend is awesome producing a beautiful crema right out of a commercial coffee pot which is freakin' awesome. New El Cocinera Blend at The Red Store in Cape May Point

Photos of The Red Store, Cape May Point
This photo of The Red Store is courtesy of TripAdvisor
....I've known Lucas for a long time, I was really excited to do up a blend for him...
el cocinera means a collaboration between a chef and a roaster...
This blend is full bodied, not in the least bit bitter--alot of times when you take away really acidic coffee all your left with is bland, nutty blech...so I have been really experimenting with dark, rich and smooth and this blend really nails it. Go check 'em out in Cape May Point ...breakfast, lunch and dinner-plus you can even by a bag and take it home!

Tuckahoe Brewing Co. wins NJ best beer with Harry and Beans Coffee

Here's the link http://www.pressofatlanticcity.com/life/how-they-make-it-tuckahoe-brewery-shows-how-to-serve/article_a57786ab-4134-5695-ad6c-f04efd7f519b.html
About a year ago or so Tuckahoe Brewing opened up next door to the roastery. Pretty soon thereafter they approached me about making a coffee stout(think guiness wtih coffee notes if you're not a beer nerd)...
anyway  I really enjoyed the process, some days too much but anyway they took home the gold for the whole state of NJ! So I am really proud of them and happy to have contributed the coffee side of things. So come check them out for a taste and a growler fill and don't be afraid to pop into the roastery either...check em on saturdays after 12pm.

In development...new blends, new places to buy coffee

..so I've been really busy at the factory doing custom blends for some new accounts and old.
There's a really great place down at Cape May Point that I'm wrassling up a new blend for so I am going back to my strong yet smooth motto and making it happen. I pulled the final test shot through my espresso maker this morning so now I'll run it through the drip coffee maker today to make sure its right.
FTO Costa is heavilly involved in this blend with various stages of roasting to get it where I want it and of course where the customer  wants it. Location and blend premiere coming forthright. Meanwhile I have about six other new blends I am working on for some other new places to eat and such so needless to say I'm over caffienated...
I got a neat little citrusy blend I'm working on for the spring/summer to pair with the lighter summer fare at Steve & Cookies in Margate.

Observations on being late to the party

...so back from vacation, first off this fin is the bomb-it's a bullet fin about 9" or so and has this bulbous formation at the base. I got this fin in a complicated three way surfboard trade a couple years ago and used it a couple times but it hummed like crazy at high speed-drove me nuts live a beehive strapped under the back of the board. So on a whim, I took this lunatic fin down to Playa Guionnes with some 80 grit sandpaper and began to modify. Wow! No more hum and a nice tight flex pattern, lovely... can't praise this fin enough, its awesome. I can't believe I wrote this thing off as a gimmick for so long.
Second, I forgot to hit up the library for a couple books for the hot afternoons down there and I snagged this novel from the eighties...holy smokes this guy is way entertaining, best book I've read in a long time.Alot of satire in here, legit stream of consciousness stuff-kinda like a modern faulkner or something...I really laughed out loud about 50 times...where have I been can't believe I never heard of Don Delillo's White Noise....
you can borrow my copy if you bring me something cool to read.
Thirdly these crocs are the best shoes on earth! I can't believe I said it but I did. Comfy comfy comfy comfy
and they make standing in the factory all day ultra bearable. I must take this opportunity to apologize to everyone from ohio that visits and I snickered at their crocs but you all are genius, I praise you.
Finally this song I can't get enough of Yppah----
anyway I'm back to work.

http://youtu.be/R7CbMBUNC6I
...I'll be out of the country for a bit, saw this awful (good) movie and finally found a fairing like this for my bike, can't wait to put it on, so enjoy! Mike Douglas on a bike who woulda thought? bit of profanity at the end so adjust your volume
